You don’t need to do it alone

In fitness, like in life, you don’t need to do it all alone or figure it out on your own.

Especially when it comes to keeping motivated, having someone else to go on a journey with you can make the difference between giving up or keeping on going until you achieve your goals.

We all have different preferences depending on the type of personality we have. Some people prefer going to group classes as they like to socialise with multiple people at once and also have the competitive element from it.

Other people would rather hire a personal trainer so that their workouts are fully focused on their specific goals and also because of the accountability factor.

And there are also some people who would rather do their workouts on their own but share with friends what they’re up to and how their journey is going.

These are the ways I find the easiest when it comes to keeping motivated. Think about it… If you decide to do it on your own and you don’t tell absolutely anyone, on the days that you don’t feel like doing it, if you miss it, the only person you’re disappointing is yourself. And as I’ve heard a lot in the personal development world “humans do more for others than do for ourselves”.

I’m not saying it is impossible to do it on your own though, but it will require a lot more willpower and discipline.

The risk of doing it on your own is that if you start missing too many times on your commitment, you’re reinforcing the idea that you can’t do it. That will affect your self-belief massively and make it harder and harder to achieve your goals.
