My energy hacks

- limit the amounts of stress in your life. Stress consumes a lot of energy not just from your mind but also from your body. Meditation really helps with maintaining your calm state and therefore keeping your energy levels higher.

One of the questions I get asked the most is about how to increase energy levels. And normally this question comes from people who spend the majority of their days sitting behind desks. So if you spend most of your day sitting, how is it possible to get so tired?

In my opinion one of the main reasons is because the human body is very clever and adapts very well to different environments and stimulus. So if you move more, your body will adapt and therefore you will have more energy. On the other side, the least you move the least energy you will have. That’s why it is so important to keep stimulating our bodies.

But that may not always be the reason why you’re lacking on energy. So below I’m going to share with you things that you can do to increase your energy levels.

1. Drink water - one of the symptoms of dehydration is feeling fatigued. If you tend to forget to drink water, one thing that really helps is to have a jar or a bottle of water on your desk or wherever you go.

2. Sleep - you can’t expect to have energy if you don’t allow your body to recover and recharge batteries. Make sure you have at least 7 hours sleep each night or 49 hours minimum per week.

3. Meals - adjust your consumption of sugars, bread, rice and pasta to the times of the day when you need to be the least focused or active. Except if you’re going to work out (then you want to have carbs before your workout). I personally only have protein and vegetables for lunch as I know that by having rice, pasta or bread it will bring my energy levels down.

4. Diet - have a varied diet to make sure you’re having all the nutrients and vitamins you need. If you struggle to get them all from food then you should look into supplementing. The best supplement for energy I have come across so far has been Floradix tablets.

5. Cardio exercise - the best type of exercise to improve your energy levels. Also including movement breaks throughout the day to stimulate your body.

6. Stress - limit the amounts of stress in your life. Stress consumes a lot of energy not just from your mind but also from your body . Meditation really helps with maintaining your calm state and therefore keeping your energy levels higher.
